8 Month Mark In 5 Days!! (Week 32 In The Field)

I cant believe that my 8 month mark is coming up soon, wow this month flew by! I don't know where all the time is going, it feels like just yesterday I was leaving for the plane to come here. I guess when your working almost 24/7, you never have time to glance down at your watch to see what time it is. Back at home, I would always check the time every 5 minutes, and that just makes time go by slow. I don't know about you all, but its flying by for me.

Anyways we had a good week this week. Found out that our zone will be participating in youth conference on the 30th and I am so excited for that! I loved like all the youth activities that I did back home, so I'm pretty excited about this! :)

On Tuesday I went on exchanges with my new District Leader and that was a blast. Him and I get a long great! Had so much fun, while getting work done. Oh and by the way, I forgot to mention, I feel a lot better now, so this past week I was able to work effectively. Our investigator Cheryl Vance, is still holding strong, comes to church, reads the scriptures, prays and she's been 2 weeks without coffee. I am so excited for her, she is progressing so well. Our Baptismal date with her is still June 7th.

Our other investigator Ashley, had to cancel our appointment this past week. I feel Like she's avoiding us now, so sad. We are not going to give up on her though!  I will keep you updated on her.

So on Saturday we helped the sister's investigator with a service project. Their investigator's name is Carrol, and she is solid, but unfortunately she's moving to Nevada. Anyways, we helped her pretty much all day. And at the end, she came to us, because she found out that we cover her home town Capulin. She gave us like 6 referrals to go visit next time we are down there. That's more than any member has ever given us! We are pretty stoked about that, and we also got a new investigator, Carrol's cousin Jessica, who also lives in Capulin. She was there, and we all shared a lesson, and testified of the power of the Book Of Mormon. They Both felt the spirit so strongly. It's moments like those that make me love being a missionary. :) We hope to visit Jessica sometime this week, Ill keep you posted on that.

We had to clean our car that night because zone conference was Monday, and they inspect the cars. Needless to say, they said our car was the cleanest! Anyways, that was a really good meeting (that's why our p day is today instead of yesterday).  We got to see President Anderson, which is always nice. We will only be able to see him one more time, until he goes home July 1st, kinda sad. We all secretly made letters for him, and the Assistants to the President are going to make a scrap book out of them.

It's been a really good week! I better close now, got to finish up a couple more things and then our zone is having a BBQ! So stoked for that! :) I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!

Happy Mother's Day! (Week 31 In The Field)

Happy Mothers Day everybody! I hope everyone had a good one. I am so glad I was able to skype my Mom and the rest of my family on that very special day. It was good to see all off them and hear their voices again.

Anyways, that was probably the highlight of my week, not much happened because I've been pretty sick lately. I've mostly been really trying to rest so I can get better and get back to work as soon as possible. Sorry I don't have much to report on.

I got to meet a couple new members of my district which was nice. I always seem to be put in the best districts, don't know why haha. Everybody is so nice and fun to talk to. There is a new Sister in my district named Sister Grant who apparently is best friends with one of my good friends from back home, Brooke Marra. So I am going to have to email her and tell her about that.

Anyways I wish I had more to tell you. Oh! Our investigator Cheryl Vance is still progressing very nicely! Shes doing everything shes supposed too, we even found out that she gave up coffee! I am so excited for her and its so nice to see her come closer to Christ.

I am so grateful to be a missionary and I am so grateful for mothers and the wonderful example that they set for us. I love you all and miss you so much! Have a good week everybody!

Staying Another Round! (Week 30 In The Field)

Well, turns out I'm staying here another transfer! I have mixed feelings about this one. I love the people here, everybody is just so kind. However, I do miss civilization a lot, turns out I'm a city boy, who would have guessed. :)

Anyways, the area has been really hard to work in here, everything is spread out. I have a huge area! I am so thankful we have a car, however, wish we could have more miles. This past week has been really hard because our appointment with our investigator keeps getting put off. We don't know what's wrong or why she's avoiding us. The good thing is, she still is coming to church. Our ward mission leader thinks the reason for her postponing her baptism is because she might not have a solid testimony of the church yet. Hopefully we will be able to meet with her tomorrow, so I'll let you know what happens with her.

We also were not able to meet with our other investigators, the Schells, the ones that have been investigating since 2006. The sisters in our district had a baptism that night so we had to reschedule for this week Friday.

Our other investigator, Cheryl Vance, probably our most solid, had to reschedule for tonight. I am so excited to meet with her. We heard from another member that she wanted my companion to baptize her when the day comes. I guess it's a good thing we are both staying! We are going to extend a baptismal date for her tonight! Pray that all will go well.

As far as the rest of the week went, Saturday was our best day! We went on exchanges with our zone leaders and we all worked in our area. They call it blitzing the area. We got a lot of lessons out of it and now have 2 new investigators! That really helped us because we have been struggling on finding people to teach.

All there is ever to really do here is service, haha, not that that's a bad thing, it would just be nice to teach a lot more. After the blitz we went out with our ward mission leader to see a couple less actives. We were able sit down with the Martinez family. They have been coming back to church recently, which is awesome! They are such a nice family! We asked the Dad how he felt on working to get to the temple with his family, he said he would love that! It's moments like this that make me so happy I'm a missionary, to be able to help others come closer to Christ. :)

I am looking forward to facing new challenges this transfer and doing my best to help the people here in the Valley. I love and miss you all and hope you have a good week! :)

Oh and Happy Mothers day as well! Cant wait to skype my family this Sunday!
