Well, on Wednesday I will officially be 3 quarters into my mission. I
can't believe that the time has come this far. I look back now, at the
beginning to middle of my mission, and it makes me wanna cry. I don't want
it to come to end so soon. I have too many great memories, and I just
wanna go back to the beginning to relive them.
I miss all the wards I
served in, and all the great Elders that I served with, and all the
wonderful members and investigators I got to know. But I gotta keep
looking forward, and finish strong! This is the final stretch, so I won't
give up now.
We have been kept pretty busy the past couple weeks here in
the Rye ward. On Tuesday we saw our investigator Vern, and we taught
part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to him. He talks a lot, so it's really
hard to fit in what we wanna say to him. He's really not progressing at
all unfortunately, but we hope to extend a baptismal invite to him during
our next lesson. He is the nicest man you would ever meet, he's super
service oriented, and is always helping out someone. He would make a
great member of our Church. :)
We went on exchanges with our district
leader and his comp on Wednesday. I stayed in Rye with Elder Neff (the
district leader) and my comp went to Wescliffe with his comp Elder Dunn.
The exchanges were pretty strange. We Tried to go see a bunch of less
actives, but no one answered. Then we went to go see Ivy, and tried to
ease her concern on baptism. She is deathly afraid of the water, so next
time we go we are going to give her a blessing of comfort so that she
won't be scared of it.
Then we tried to go see a bunch of other people
but no one was home. It was kinda discouraging. So we went to go talk to
random people at the lake we have in our area. That went well. We
handed out a Book of Mormon to someone, but they weren't too interested.
Then we had a lesson with our investigator Ethan and and a less active
recent convert named JJ Lewis. We taught the commandments, specifically
baptism and following the prophet. The spirit was super strong there, and
I am sure Ethan is ready for baptism. We need to hurry and finish the
lessons though if he's gonna get baptized on
April 4th. At this rate we are running behind. He came to church Sunday, so we knocked out Law Of Chasity and Word of Wisdom with him during second hour. He seems to have no problem with it.
On Thursday
we had zone conference with our mission president. That was really
fun, we got to sleep over with our zone leaders the night before. But it
has been a great week! Training is going well. Elder Zaugg is doing
great, and is an awesome companion to to have! He is growing so much I
can already tell! :)
Well I gotta go here soon. I just wanna let you all
know I have a testimony of this Church and of this Gospel. It is the
only full and living Church on the whole face of the earth, and I am
blessed to be a part of it. I know that what I am doing is the most
important thing that I will ever do in my entire life and that this is
truly the Lord's work.
I love and miss you all so much and can't wait to
see you soon! :) Until we meet again!
