So this week was very short, due to a late p day, but it was a very productive week!
So, my companion and I decided we wanted to visit all the former investigators in our area book, to see if they might be interested again. We spent a good amount of time on Wednesday tracking down these people, but they had either moved, were still not interested, or just not home. Kinda a let down, but that's the life of a missionary haha.
However, we did have luck with one, his name is John Rendin. We went to his door, talked with him for a good 15 minutes and he said he would like to sit down with us this coming week! He's a super cool guy, and very friendly, which is rare haha. Hopefully we can meet with him sometime this Friday.
On Thursday we went to see our investigator Curtis, with a member in our ward named brother Tullos. Turns out he doesn't have to go through surgery after all! He was so excited about that, however he still has to do eye surgery, which shouldn't be too bad.
After we met with him, we had to do our grocery shopping, and then we went to a place called ultimate buffet. Boy did I stuff myself, which probably wasn't smart because we had dinner with our ward mission leader at 4 30. Either way, ate like a champ that day haha.
After dinner we went with another member in our ward named brother Osorio, to give a blessing to one of his non-member friends. That was such a spiritual experience, and missionary experience as well. :) I think we will be seeing her at church real soon, and maybe we can teach her the lessons as well!
On Friday we had district meeting which is always a blast, I am seriously convinced I have the best district in the mission. Missionary work on Friday was pretty unsuccessful, however we had an awesome dinner with a Fijian guy named Arvin. That was seriously the best dinner I have had in a while! He made kalua pig, which is a Hawaiian dish. He served that with the BEST curry I had ever had in my life! I don't think I will ever have a dinner that good in a while.
Saturday was a crazy day! In the morning we decided to go tracking and through that we picked up a new investigator named Phillip Fanders! He is super interested in our church, and we have an appointment to teach him the first lesson on Saturday! Wish us luck, we are super excited about it.
Anyways, after that we went out with a priest after, and he had a blast. Unfortunately we got to see a dog get hit by a Comcast car and the people were freaking out. Not really much we could have done to help so we went on our way, because we had limited time with Amik (the priest). We visited a less active, went tracking, and he placed a book of Mormon! We had such a great time, it reminded me of when I went out with the missionaries, always such a good time!
On Sunday, we had church at 1 to 4, and after we went with Sister Gallegos to have dinner with her family up in Falcon which was like 30 minutes away. We had such a great time, it reminded me so much of our family Sunday dinners back at home! Family, food, laughter, jokes, and music. Couldn't have asked for a better evening. :)
Anyways that was my week! I hope you all had a good week as well, I love you all and miss every one of you! Have a great week!

Half way through the Transfer (Week 15 In The Field)
So, yesterday we reached our half way mark through the transfer, I swear these weeks just fly by, It's crazy! A lot has happened this past week.
The week started with our whole district going bowling last P day which was a blast! I was doing really well the second game we played, all I got was strikes and spares, I swear I'm usually NEVER that good. I usually only bowl like 80 sometimes 100 if im lucky. But yeah I was killing it for some reason, it must be the spirit that is with me haha.
On Tuesday we saw Curtis and gave him a blessing before he went into surgery, I don't know how he's doing thus far but I will keep you posted.
On Wednesday we visited a less active, but as soon as we got to the driveway the guy opened his door and said that he wasn't interested, then slammed the door. So I was ready to leave but my companion decided to go up and knock on the door, I was like man you are psycho! So we did and the guy answered again and my companion said, "Hey man, I know you said you weren't interested, but is there anything we can do for you?" The guy said no and slammed the door in our face again. So, even though there was no luck, I have learned that my companion never gives up, which is a good thing.
On Thursday we went on exchanges, I was with my district leaders companion Elder Robison in their area, and my companion was with my district leader Elder Bond in our area. We had a great time, I got to meet their investigator Dave who is a 59 year old man and is super cool. We taught him the Word of Wisdom and he did not like the fact that he has to give up coffee in order to be baptized. We challenged him to ask Heavenly Father if it was the right thing to do, and we told him all the blessings that he can get from giving it up. I don't think it's been going well so far for him, but I pray that it will work out, because he wants to be baptized.
Anyways, we switched back Friday, after District Meeting, which was super fun as always. Not much happened Friday, because we had a bunch of meetings as we usually do.
But Saturday I was able to travel out of my zone, because my companion had a baptism in the Broadmoor area. A family that he had taught a while back was finally getting baptized, and I got to go to it! It was super exciting for me, because I have never been out of the zone and I got to see more of colorful Colorado! :) The baptism took up pretty much all of our day, but before it something interesting happened.
So we were doing our morning studies when Sister Gallegos yells up to us and says "Elders we need to get out of the house, I smell a gas leak and the carbon monoxide detector is at 7! So we went in the front yard and hung out for a while. We called 911 and they sent a guy over to come check it out. Long story short, it wasn't really a big deal, the guy fixed the leak and he said Carbon monoxide isn't dangerous apparently unless it reaches 35. We didn't know that though, but we do now haha. It was kind of crazy though because we thought it was a lot worse than the guy said it was.
But moving on, as you figured our p day has been postponed to today which means we had to work a regular day yesterday, not much luck, but as we biked we found this trail and it led to a massive rock formation. So my companion and I decided to climb it, and take a bunch of cool pictures, which my mom will post for you guys. :) Oh, and we also got locked out of our house too, and we really had to use the restroom so we got a ladder and climbed through our bedroom window. The things you do when you get desperate haha.
Anyways, that was my week! It was so much fun, I hope you all had a great week too! Love and miss you all! :)

Hey Everybody! (Week 14 In The Field)
So this week was a really good week for sure, we got a lot of work done!
First I'll start with last Monday on our p-day. We decided to do something a little different other than just basketball for 3 hours. So, first we had lunch at the BK, and there we met a super nice old British lady, who isn't a member, and invited us over to her house! YES! That almost never happens, haha.
Anyways, after that we decided we wanted to be like Macklemore, and go pop some tags at the thrift shop! That was pretty fun! Elder Robison and I found a pool table, with the balls and the sticks on it, so we decided to play a couple games until one of the workers came and bagged it up haha whoops! It was well worth it though, haven't played pool in a while.
After, we bought our fur coats, broken key boards, ski blankets and knee boards (another mans trash is another mans come up!) I hope you all are getting the reference here, hahahaha! Anyways, we then decided to go sledding on the hill behind the stake center, which was a lot of fun. We did that for a couple hours until p-day ended, so yeah, the week started off great! :)
Tuesday we had a lesson with our former potential investigator Tim, who my old companion and I met through tracting and set up a return appointment. Lets just say it didn't go too well, I mean, we taught great, but everything we said to him went through one ear and right out the other. He asked a lot of questions, and every answer we gave he just didn't seem to agree with. We were there for an hour and a half answering questions, so it was rough, but he's moving to Denver anyways, so we will probably never see him again. Hopefully we at least planted a seed, haha.
But Wednesday was a lot better. We went tracting and found a Hawaiian family, who might be interested! My new companion is super stoked about that, haha. We have a set appointment with them this week so wish us luck!
Thursday we visited the British lady who we met at BK and helped her put away groceries. We really got to know her husband and her, and they love us! They said we can come back any time so hopefully we can teach them the first lesson!
Friday we had an amazing lesson with one of our recent converts Kathie Duncan, she's older and just the nicest lady ever! My companion and I were very nervous because she wanted a good lesson on the fall and agency, and we didn't really have time to prepare. But she comes over, and it turned out that the lesson went really well. Truly guided by the spirit on that one. Probably my favorite lesson I've had so far.
So, last but not least, we were able to see Curtis. It was my companions fist time meeting him, he loved him because this is the first black investigator he has ever had, haha. Anyways, so it turns out his surgery for his throat is rescheduled till this Thursday, because he was sick this past week unfortunately. So we scheduled an appointment to see him this Tuesday to give him a blessing. Please keep him in your prayers everybody.
Anyways, I love and miss you all and hope you have a great week! :)

Transfer Week (Week 13 In The Field)
So as you know from my last email, this past week was Transfers. And although I am staying in my area, I got to go anyways because my last companion couldn't drive. So I got to take him there, and that's also where I met my new companion, Elder Requilman, who is a native Hawaiian. I love my new companion, he knows how to have fun and still get work done.
Anyways, we met up there, and drove back to sister Gallegos where he dropped off all of his stuff. Then we took our car to our district leader, and he dropped us back off at sister Gallegos and took our car. Bitter sweet day. Now we are on our bikes, which is tough because it is sooo hilly in our area.
So, Wednesday we just spent the whole time unpacking his stuff and getting settled. This past week we had the worst stats ever because Monday was pday, Tuesday we went to go say bye to all of our favorite members, Wednesday was transfers, Thursday I took him around the area so he can figure out his way around, Friday was district meeting and we had a few other meetings as well, so not much proselyting time, Saturday it snowed a bunch, so we couldn't ride our bikes and had to walk to places, so we couldn't visit as many people as we could on a bike on a 60 degree sunny day, and Sunday Church starts at 1 now so we get home at 4 30, so again no proselyting time.
However we did gain one new investigator so now we have 3. Our new one's name is Karla, she's handicapped, I don't really know with what, but she's like 65, lives on her own, and works at red lobster. She investigated the church a year ago but the missionaries dropped her because they weren't sure if she was accountable enough to the point where she needs to be baptized. Oh, and she started working Sundays, so she's going to be a tough one to work with, but I will let you all know what happens.
Curtis is still in the hospital, so please continue to pray for him. Our other investigator, Donna Weaver, not sure if I told you about her or not, but she's a super nice old lady, she's 75, non denominational and has a hard time with structured religion? I don't know, still trying to figure that one out, but she's awesome haha.
Other than that, thats all I really got this week, it's been a super hectic week. Next week will be better!
My new companion is awesome and I cant wait to start working with him. He is super enthusiastic about the work and he has really good ideas on how to get members more pumped up to do missionary work! I am so happy to be his companion, and I cannot wait to see our ward start growing with him!
I love and miss all of you so much! I hope you are doing well and have a fantastic new year! May you all strive to accomplish what you set for your new years resolution this year! :) Have a great week!
