Sorry it took me so long to get to the computer today. This morning we ended up going to the top of pikes peak! Finally Got to have their famous doughnut everyone has been raving about. They were pretty dang good, not going to lie. :)
So we got a ride with bishop and his family, which was really nice of them to do, it was a long trip up. Woke up at 5:30AM, showered and got ready and met them at the church at 7:00AM. It was like an hour and a half drive to the top, and the road to the top got pretty scary. But once you get to the top it is super flat haha. So it was a pretty neat experience, took a whole bunch of pictures which my mom can post online for you all to see, went through the gift shop, of course I had to get a shirt. Not many people can say they have been on top of a 14,000 foot mountain before.
Anyways after we drove back down, got a few more pics on the way, and then went back to the church to pick up our car, go change, and come here to email. So that was my eventful morning. I don't really have to much time to email, but I just want to let you all know that I am alive and well!
We had a pretty interesting week this past week. Didn't really have a whole lot of time to work in our area because we had zone conference on Tuesday, which is an all day long meeting with our mission president. They talked about how we can use 8 year old baptisms for finding more people to teach. We have already started implementing it in our area. There are a couple 8 year olds getting baptized soon, and we invited their families to use it as a missionary opportunity to invite non member friends to come.
On Wednesday we biked to a less active house that apparently lives in our ward boundaries, but I don't think so. It was really far, like a 40 minute bike ride there haha. Needless to say we got all the way there and there was a large gate in front of the house so we couldn't get in haha.
After that, we went to our ward BBQ which was a lot of fun. We invited 2 less active families to it and our investigator, but none of them showed up. :/ It was still a good time though.
On Friday we had zone training, where we talked about how to increase our teaching skills. After, my companion and I decided to blitz the other elder's in our districts area. Basically a blitz is when I go with one elder, and my comp goes with the other, and we all work in their area to help them teach more. It ended up being pretty successful. A lady came up to elder Mogle and I and told us she's searching for something more in her life. So we gave her a Book of Mormon, and invited her to read and pray about it. They now have a potential investigator they can work with!
On Saturday we did service for a school, helped them clean up a little, and after we went on exchanges with the pikes peak YSA elders. One of them is really sick, so they got like no work done in their area this week, so we helped them. My companion stayed with the sick elder, while the other one and I went to do some work in their area. It's weird being in YSA because they cover like 4 zones.
But anyways that was my week this week and I got to go. I love you all and hope you have a good week this week! :)
