Staying Again! (Week 53 In The Field)

Well everybody, transfers are this week and it looks like I'll be staying for 7 more weeks here in the Cordera ward! My companion, Elder McGhie, is leaving, he's going to the Valley for his last area. He's not to happy with it, but he understands that's where the Lord wants and needs him.

So I'll be getting a new companion, and I am super excited because it's going to be someone I came out with! His name is Elder Alpaugh and he is super cool! Can't wait to start serving with him. So first off I wanna say I'm sorry about not emailing you all last week. So gotta catch up now!

So last week was general conference, and it was so good! It's always nice to have a good long spiritual boost, and to hear uplifting messages from the Lord's Prophets and apostles! I think my favorite talk was Elder Holland's of course. He talked about how we need to strengthen our brethren, especially those who are poor and don't have much.

Anyways, this week has been a good week. We had 2 less actives make it to church this week so we were super excited. One of the less active families, we are trying to work with their son to get him baptized. They did come to church, however it has still been really hard to get in contact with them and teach them.

Our other less active, Deb, is starting to become totally active now. She's been coming to church the past couple of weeks and her testimony is becoming rock solid! We had the opportunity to give her a blessing on Thursday for her times of trial she's going through right now. The spirit was so strong, and there is no denying the love Heavenly Father has for her. I love moments like these. Where you can see someone turn their life around completely, and follow the Lord. Being able to help people do that is an incredible experience! :) So those are the spiritual aspects of the week.

We did a lot of service this week as well. We helped create a concrete foundation for a member in our ward, the garage he's building. That was way fun, got a bunch of concrete splatter marks all over my clothes haha. Don't worry they were my service clothes. :) We also had another huge service project on Saturday. We helped a member with landscaping again. And you know what that means? We got to move some more rocks! It took us all day, and we still didn't get that much done. Guess we will be going back in the future to help with that.

Oh, I forgot to tell you! Last week we got to see Meet the Mormons! It was so good! Whoever didn't see it yet, needs to see it. Our mission president got it to stream, so everyone in the mission got to see it. Well I can't wait to tell you about my upcoming week! I am super excited about this new transfer, its going to be so much fun. :)

I hope you all have a wonderful week! I love and miss you all!

Elder Greer
