13 Month Mark and New Area (Week 55 In The Field)

Well, just Saturday I hit my 13 month mark being out in the mission field! So thats pretty exciting! The downward slope is already going by crazy fast. The days are long, but the weeks fly by. I am enjoying it way too much for it to go by fast.

So as you know, last week was really rough for me. I got the call from President that I'm getting emergency transferred to the Briargate ward, which isn't too bad since it's still in the same stake, so I'll see members from the Cordera ward here and there. :) I've come to grips with the fact that this is where the Lord needs me at this time, and I am excited to be serving here.

I was a pretty emotional wreck my first day, so my new companion was a big help. His name is Elder Seymour, he's a super nice kid, loves planes a lot, almost done with his mission as well. He's got about 4 months left. He's a little socially awkward, but he's a good missionary, and we get along pretty well. Anyways, that night he gave me a beautiful blessing, which helped me a lot. I received confirmation that this is what needs to happen.

So the members that we live with are pretty cool, the Williams family. My new address is:

    Elder Andrew Greer
    2420 Linenhall Court
    Colorado Springs, Colorado 80920

He is actually running for state secretary, so thats pretty cool, and they LOVE board games. Every night they play with a couple friends, it's nuts. They can stare at the game board for hours haha. They are super nice though, oh, and guess what!? We get the master bedroom in the house! Haha, needless to say, we have it pretty good. :)

Not much work-wise happened this week, just because of the whole situation that went down. Tuesday was probably our best day, just because we were able to talk to everyone we came in contact with. Not a single person didn't answer their door, it was crazy. The rest of the week was pretty slow though. We don't have a car, so we walk everywhere. I'm going to be getting a pretty good work out in this area haha.

Something cool that happened this week was the family history fair! They just built a new family history center at our building, and it is so nice! There are couches, a 60 inch flat screen tv, and like 15 computers. It's the biggest center I've seen so far. The fair was on Saturday from 10 to 4. There were tons of non members there, the parking lot was full the whole time. They said next year they are predicting that they will need to use the local high school parking lot, and get buses to transport people from the school to the church. That was probably the most exciting day we had this week.

My new ward is pretty cool, the members are super nice as always, but holy cow the ward is so small! There was hardly anyone at sacrament meeting on Sunday. It's a good ward though, and I am excited to get to know everyone and serve here to the best of my ability! :)

I got to go now but I love and miss you all and hope you have an amazing week!

Elder Greer
