I'm What President?! (Week 71 In The Field)

So Thursday night I got a call from my mission president and he's like "How are you doing Elder Greer? I'm doing good, how about you President? I'm doing pretty good. Just wanted to call you and ask you if you would be willing to accept a call to train one of the new missionaries coming out this next transfer? How do you feel about that? We prayed about it a lot and we felt that you should be one of the trainers. Will you accept that call? Uhh....I would love to president, wow!" So I guess I will start training a new missionary next week.

This coming week is the last week of the transfer. I can't believe how fast its gone by. Elder price and I have got a lot done and did a lot of good in the past 5 weeks. But it looks like he's off to a new area, which will be good for him, since he's been in this area for 7 months now and has been here his whole mission. So I guess I will take over here with a new missionary, oh man am I super nervous haha. I'm a little bit excited, but more so nervous than anything. But I trust that if the Lord trusts me to train then everything will be fine and I'll do okay. There is always a reason behind everything, so we will see how this goes.

So this will be my last week with Elder Price, so I gotta make the most of it. :) This past week was really good! We taught our new investigator, Vern, the first 2 lessons with a member and those went very well! He has really enjoyed our visits and seems really accepting to everything we teach him. He keeps all the commitments we leave with him, except coming to Church. We need to figure out the concern there. He is reading the Book of Mormon a lot, and cross referencing it to the bible and seems to be loving that. He reads all the pamphlets we give him twice, and watched the restoration video twice, and the bible videos 3 times each haha. He is loving all this new info we give him, but he just won't come to church. So we will have to see what's going there and we are thinking about inviting him to be baptized this next lesson we have with him Tuesday.

Ivy has been coming to church and staying all 3 hours, and is really enjoying getting to know all the members of Relief Society and they have enjoyed getting to know her. We hope and pray she decides to get baptized soon because she is so ready.

We also received a referral from a member for a potential new investigator. She has agreed to take the discussions with us so we hope to meet with her this week. Her name is Judy, also an older lady but I'll keep you posted about her.

I have to say, I am also getting pretty good at soccer. ;) We play every Tuesday and Saturday with a bunch of non members. I actually have a crazy cool story from it. So we usually start with a prayer before we play, but we forgot one time. So we play and almost everybody started getting hurt, and getting mad, and being all un-sportsmanship like. So one of the members that we play with, in the middle of the game, was like you wanna know what, we should pray, we forgot to do that. So we pray, and after that everything changed. It was a night and day difference, like someone flipped a switch. Everyone started showing good sportsmanship, the injuries stopped, and everyone was laughing having a good time. And those who did get hurt started to feel better after the prayer. It was amazing! :) It really boosted my testimony on the importance of prayer for everything. The non-members were amazed by the difference that the prayer had, and commented on it a lot. But always remember to pray for even the little things.

God loves us and wants to hear from us and he will bless us when we take the time to communicate with him. I hope you all have a great week! I love and miss you! :)
